SUDS Soldiers Undertaking Disabled Scuba

.............................BLUE BEACH.........................
What an amazing weekend - MEMORIAL DAY 2012
The disabled soldiers came to GTMO to scuba dive.  Lee was invited to go diving and help out with the group.  It is an annual event!!  He dove with them in the Bay - an advanced dive - even tho he is not advanced - he was able to go since so many instructors were there  - they went 89 feet deep.  2 different dives that day.  Ellen got to greet them all and fit them for their gear etc - she worked long and hard in preparation for this event!!  (with her cast on!!)  On Sunday the divers went to Blue Beach, a beach that the public is unable to go to normally.  Ellen was asked to babysit Sydney, the dive shop mgr's daughter all day - so we asked her could we take her to Blue Beach to hang out, watch, play and collect shells etc - she said OF COURSE!!!  So - off we went!  Lee went also and helped the divers prepare for diving - he did not dive himself.  It was a fun day - nice and HOT - we got lots of hamburgers and tons of seahearts!!  It is so inspiring to watch these guys and their determination!!
The scooters you can hold on to while diving - they just propel you around!!

The photographer for the weekend!! He was standing on a rock
and was lucky that his camera never got wet!!

Everything laid out and ready to go!
Listening in on the PLAN OF THE DAY

Plan is put into ACTION!!

This guy preferred not to dive with his prosthetic - so if you
look closely, you will see his left leg is without.

I think this girl thought he would want it......

but he didn't..............

Almost all ready to go - everyone floating !!
